Institutional Research & Program Evaluation

How well do your congregational practices and priorities align with your prophetic call to co-create Love's Domain on Earth? Where is your congregation the strongest in its prophetic commitment, and what challenges do you face? Could you use some information gathering or analysis to help with moving your church into its future?

Institutional research and program evaluation are often seen as business tools that prop up unjust, profit-driven organizations. But it doesn't have to be that way. Both types of practices can be used in the service of creating organizations of justice, kindness, and humility - what the prophet Micah told us God seeks from us.

I bring more than 20 years of institutional research, planning, and program evaluation to the table, including congregational research projects at All Souls Church Unitarian Universalist and High Plains Church Unitarian Universalist (both Colorado Springs, CO). Other consulting projects have supported the Grinnell College (Grinnell, IA) Chaplains Office and the Colorado College (Colorado Springs, CO) Chaplains Office.

Let me help you with:

  • Questionnaires/surveys (design, administration, analysis)
  • Interviews (design, administration if geographically possible, analysis)
  • Focus groups/facilitated conversations (design, administration if geographically possible, analysis)
  • Public information web research on comparable congregations
  • Other informational needs? Let's discuss.
